He insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan was a Nigerian project and not a regional consensus candidate and expressed optimism that he possesses all the qualities that would enable him to defeat any candidate both in the PDP primaries and the Presidential election.

The Vice-President, Namadi Sambo was represented by the Director General of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation, Dr Dalhatu Tafida.

Other dignitaries at the well attended occasion, includes the Deputy Director General of the Campaign Organisation, Senator Isaiah Balat, Edo State Campaign Coordinator of the organisation, and former Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Imasuen, leader of the House of Representatives, Col.Tunde Akogun, Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River, was represented by the Deputy Governor of the state, Effiong Cobham.

Others include representatives of the Governors of Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states. Chairman of the state chapter of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, Former Special Adviser to the President, Prof. Julius Ihonbvere, Governorship aspirant Ken Imasuagbon, among others.

Chief Anenih who urged the crowd to mark his words, asserted that “our presence here has sent a signal. And I know that the people outside are more than the people inside. Having said that, we know that there is Adamu Ciroma’s consensus candidate. We also know that there is Nigeria’s consensus candidate. And for Nigeria’s consensus candidate there is no vacancy in Aso Rock.
“I do not waste my word.

All I can say is that I welcome all of you and we should prepare not only for the primaries but also for the real election to elect President Goodluck Jonathan as the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria and Vice President Namadi Sambo as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2011.

We want to assure our visitors that in Edo state we don’t run the party on the pages of the Newspapers. We don’t believe in thuggery, we don’t believe in illegalities. By the grace of God we will reach the promise land” he stated.
