WARRI- THE wrangling between the Joint Task Force, JTF, on the Niger-Delta and the Niger-Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, over Monday’s decision of the leader of the militant group, “General” John Togo to surrender, took another twist, Wednesday, with  the group  also declaring the JTF Commander, Brigadier –General Charles Omorgie wanted.

The task force had in a statement by its media coordinator, Lt.  Col Anthony Antigha on Tuesday declared NDLF leader, John Togo, wanted for setting up a new militant camp, sea piracy and other criminal activities in the Niger-Delta. This came two days after he (Togo) made public his intention through his lawyer, Sir Casely Omon-Irabor to surrender and cease hostilities.

Lt. Col Antigha insisted the task force does not negotiate with a criminal and there was no preliminary discussion of any sorts between it and Togo’s counsel, Omon-Irabor regarding surrender and cessation of hostilities, as claimed by the counsel. However, the coordinator of the Presidential Committee on Amnesty, Mr. Timi Alaibe confirmed that Omon-Irabor contacted him on the plan by Togo to surrender.

NDLF in a statement by its spokesman, “Captain” Mark Anthony said, “The  general public is hereby informed that the JTF leader,  Brigadier- General Charles Omoregie and his army of occupation in Niger Delta have been declared wanted by the army of NDLF over their brute force in Niger Delta by indiscriminate air bombing of harmless communities, causing genocide, extra-judicial killings  ,rape,  oil theft, intimidating the people of Niger Delta with the barrel of the gun for generational continued  internal colonialism and slavery by forcefully hijacking the God given natural oil and Gas blessings belonging to the people of Niger Delta over 50 years”.

“Therefore, the public is informed that the army of genocide under the leadership of Brigadier- General Charles Omoregie and his boys have been directed to report to the NDLF intelligent Unit for his arrest and subsequent speedy trial for violation of human rights in our court, oil theft, genocide in Niger Delta and other criminal charges against the good people of Niger Delta. There shall be a handsome reward waiting for any useful information giver, leading to the arrest of the criminal JTF boss”.

According to the statement, “NDLF is, however, appealing to the federal government that the JTF should be scrapped and demobilized for continued peace in Niger Delta. This is because over the years of JTF establishment, it has been overtly known that it cannot secure and protect the oil pipelines and oil stations, including personnel in multi-nationals in Niger Delta”.

“ The continued stay of JTF in Niger Delta as an army of occupation has sparked off more violence as the force cannot guarantee peace, therefore; its stay is a national economic waste and resources of the Niger Delta”, it added.

On the current posture of JTF, the NDLF urged the federal government to caution the task force by directing it to emulate the civilized US soldiers, who never arrest or kill innocent and harmless villagers in their onslaught.

It bragged, on the other hand, “If JTF soldiers are really trained soldiers; they should trace the NDLF leader and its soldiers to Israel Barracks, near the Atlantic Ocean at the southern coast of Nigeria for a gun duel, either by air or land. We are prepared more than JTF to set the Niger Delta people free from oppression”
