OWERRI — The leadership of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Imo State chapter, has distanced itself from the public launch of the gubernatorial ambition of Owelle Rochas Okorocha on its platform in Owerri at the weekend.
According to a press statement issued and signed by the State Chairman and Secretary, Prince C.C. Nwaka and Chief Mike Nwachukwu respectively, APGA said: “The leadership and members of the party had watched with utter amazement the recent activities and utterances of Chief Rochas Okorocha and his Agenda Group concerning his relationship with APGA”.
The party officials made it very clear that Chief Rochas Okorocha was not a confirmed registered member of APGA in Imo State, adding that “the state leadership of APGA was not privy to the purported planned declaration” of Chief Okorocha at the weekend.
APGA officials maintained that “Chief Okorocha has not discussed his intention to declare for APGA with the State Chairman or state leadership of the party.”
The press statement advised loyalists of APGA to completely discountenance any such purported declaration.
The duo, however, called on Chief Okorocha and his Agenda Group to go through due process and accepted the norms of the party if they wanted to become bona fide members of APGA.
