Former Nigeria Football Federation technical committee chairman, Taiwo Ogunjobi has urged his predecessors not to shy away from appointing a Nigerian assistant for Samson Siasia.
Ogunjobi stated that the new Eagles coach has a lot of work to do and time was running out fast.“If the NFF technical committee has made up its mind to get Nigerian assistant for Siasia they should do it now.
“The assignment ahead is huge for Siasia and he needs all the assistant he can get. He has hand pick his Simon Kalika and if the NFF feels they want more hands, they have names already, they should go for one of these and let the job begin,” said Ogunjobi.
Siasia was appointed coach of the Eagles on popular demand by Nigerians in October. This was two years after the Ogunjobi led technical committee, overlooked him to select coach Shuiabu Amodu.Siasia was unveiled yesterday and he is expected to begin work on revive the fortunes of the Eagles that took a dip since 2008.
