Benue Appeal court takes off January

The President of the Court of Appeal Justice Isa Ayo Salami has disclosed that a division of the Appeal Court for Benue and Nasarawa States is to commence sitting in Makurdi on January 7, 2011.

Justice Salami who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Government House Makurdi.

The Appeal Court President who undertook a tour of facilities provided by the Benue State government for the court, expressed happiness with the facilities put in place for the take-off of the court.

Accompanied on the inspection tour by the presiding Judge Court of Appeal, Abuja, Justice Mohammed Garba, Jos division, Justice Monica Vincent and other justices of the court of Appeal, the President of Court of Appeal further hinted that Justice Kekere Ekun and other two Justices have already appointed two justices to man the Makurdi division.

Justice Salami praised Governor Gabriel Suswam for providing a conducive atmosphere for the anticipated take-off of the court.

Governor Gabriel Suswam who was represented by the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Chive Kaave thanked Justice Salami for giving approval for the sitting of the court in the State, assuring that the State government will accord every assistance needed for the successful operation of the court.
