This year’s edition of the annual Wuraola Ojo Memorial golf tournament got off to a good start on Wednesday with Mrs. Nta Ekpo topping the leaders board in the women category.
To emerge winner, Ekpo shot 68nett to lead the field of over 100-lady golfers drawn within Lagos and its environs.
Fast rising Alaba Adetunji came second after signing for a net score of 68 while Bunmi Atekoja was 5-shots further back in the third position.
H.K Chong carded a net score of 74 for a place in the fourth position while Mrs. Nam completed the top five categories. Nam netted a score of 75 to make the top five in the net category for women.
The competition which is being staged in memory of the late wife of the chairman of Toyota Nigeria, Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo also had former lady captain of the lady’s section of Ikoyi club, Carol Majoroh on the winners chart. Majoroh garnered 90 gross to lead in the gross category while Ikeja club lady champion, Chinyere Alamu came in the second position.
With a gross score of 95, Bella Samuel, who competed at the just concluded LGAN Western zone competition in Sagamu finished third while Dr. Mrs. Angela Adegboyega is fourth in ranking after a gross score of 96. Busola Joseph grossed a score of 100 to come in the fifth position.
