Tanzania’s ‘dwarfs’ almost cost us our title, Nkwocha

Super Falcons attacking midfielder Perpetual Nkwocha has described the just concluded Africa Women Championship held in South Africa as a success and a good experience but the MVP was quick to add that Tanzania team made things difficult for them due to their petite nature.

Speaking with Saturday Sports at the Murutala Mohammed International Airport last Monday, Nkwocha said it was an experience especially with the fact the players were o small for their liking. She said the situation almost made them lose the match.

“I feel really great and I must give thanks to my friends, they were the ones who motivated me to score 11 goals. Being the highest goal scorer in that tournament I give God the glory.

Our toughest game in that tournament for me is against Tanzania, reason is that the players are   petit and this made things difficult for us. We could not play we found it diffilcult to know where to mark them even attack them

When asked the secret of her  goals,  she said  “The secret of my  goals in the AWC was made possible by my friend who charged me to score 15 goals that was my target that was why I made it to 11 goals. I was not under pressure scoring` 15 goals it was just a motivation. As the World Cup is coming I hope to follow that method again.

I think if the NFF will organize friendly matches not within the Africa but the international friendly. I think such decision has be made with the friendly match against Germany I believe things will work well.

Asked how long she thinks she can go after next year’s World Cup, Nkwocha replied “I do not think I will go as far, may be after next year’s World Cup.

I do not think without me players can not score because I believe that in any team there must be a player that can score which I believe is what happened to me. And mind you without players support it will not be possible.
