One-yr-old baby stolen in Delta

ASABA—A one-year-old baby-girl has been reportedly stolen from the custody of its mother.

The baby was allegedly stolen from a hostel, where the mother, who is a student of Delta State University, Abraka resides. Already, a co-tenant of the mother (names withheld) has been arrested by the police in connection with the theft.

Police said the suspect was tracked down following telephone conversations he (suspect) made shortly after the alleged theft. State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Charles Muka, said “one  female, aged 23, a 500 level student of Pharmacology Department,  reported to the station that her child had been stolen.

“She narrated how her  one year and two months old baby girl, Isio Atufe, was stolen from her hostel at about 1100 hours today (Sunday) by  one lady and two boys. Search of the baby is in progress. Meanwhile,  a co-tenant has been arrested,” he said.
