Nwodo lauds NCC for guarding against phone theft

By Henry Umoru

ABUJA—NATIONAL Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, said yesterday that if the nation’s economy must grow and not suffer any set back, there was the need for Nigeria leaders to ensure that good ideas were encouraged and sustained.

Speaking yesterday when he visited an indigenous telecom company, NetVisa GSM Secured Nigeria Limited, licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Dr. Nwodo urged the NCC to ensure that the good idea was not allowed to die by ensuring that all necessary impediments were removed.

According to him, it is curious that the NCC set up such a laudable body to check phone theft in the country, yet it is not doing much to bring the awareness to the people.

The PDP National Chairman, who urged NCC to encourage the programme, said: “It is not good enough that this type of programme exists and am not aware and many Nigerians are not aware.”
