By Gabriel Enogholase
BENIN — THE Commander of the Joint Military Taskforce, JTF,  in the Niger Delta, Major-Gen.Charles Omoregie, has called on Christians to always remember that whatever positions they hold in life was not by heir strength but by the special will of God.

Gen. Omoregie, who was the chairman of the 2010 Adult Harvest Thanks giving Mass and Bazaar of the Blessed Tansi Catholic Church Benin City,  said that his success in the Nigerian Army was due to his closeness to God and his contributions to the work of God.

The JTF Commander, who read the first lesson at the Mass, said that it was a show of ingratitude to God for anyone, who had climbed the ladder of success in life to think that it was his own strength and the might of his hand that had been responsible for his success.

Earlier in his sermon, the Parish Priest, Rev. Father Patrick  Osagie, admonished Christian politicians to ensure that they always have the fear of God in any positions that they occupy.

He said that it was by so doing that they would be able to serve the people they represent very well.

While describing Engr. Egbe Uzebu, an aspirant to the Federal House of Representatives for Egor/Ikpoba_Okha Federal Constituency of Edo state a devout Catholic and God fearing, he wished him well in his political ambition.

Also taking the Second reading during the service from the book of Corinthians 9:6_15, Engr. Uzebu who was one of the important personalities during the Harvest Thanks giving Mass, emphasized the need for Christians not to be involved in thin sowing, saying that God was not interested in a grudging giver.

He called on Christians to be free in almsgiving as God loves a cheerful giver.
