Governor Ibrahim Shekarau associate last weekend described Atiku’s emergence as a consensus candidate of the north as ‘sectional’ and ‘not representing true’ Nigerian dream.
The Group under the aiges of veterans of All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) led by Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa explains that Atiku’s emergence does not reflect the yearning of true Nigeria.
Bashorun Seinde whose Group endorsed Governor Shekarau candidacy for 2011 poll explained that they are concerned with somebody with a credential of a true Nigeria.
“The former VP Atiku Abubakar was nominated by a political group and this is quite different from what we stand for, of a personality who is a true Nigerian, somebody who knows this country, and somebody who has been to mostly all parts of this country, somebody we can be proud of”.
Although Bashorun Seinde admitted that the choice of Atiku wasas a result of ‘internal problem of the ruling PDP’, noted that the ruling party has shown signs of disintegration.
The endorsement of Shekarau candidacy followed an exhaustive meeting by the former Teachers at the African House, Government House Kano, as the leader of the Group Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa pledged that the retired teachers will mobilize resources for the realization of the dream.
He explained that Malam Shekarau sterling qualities should be exploited to bail the country out of the depressed socio-economic quagmire unleashed by nearly 12 years of People Democratic Party(PDP) rule.
The meeting that attracted members from the 36 states of the Federation under the leadership of Bashorun Arogbofa stressed that Malam Shekarau’s record in Kano is convincing to warrant total support from progressive thinking Nigerians.
