Sharks FC of Port Harcourt were expected to leave the shores of Nigeria for the Ivory Coast ahead of their second leg, third round Wafu Cup clash against Stella Club d’Adjame of the Ivory Coast on last night.
The Sharks contingent was billed to leave via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos aboard an Air Nigeria flight.
A 29-man contingent made up of eighteen players and four coaches are part of the contingent. Five of the players were on duty for the Flying Eagles on Saturday against Mauritius in an AYC qualifier but Coach of Sharks; John Obuh says fatigue will not be an issue.
“The boys will be fired up so I don’t think tiredness will be an issue on Wednesday,” Obuh said
“We are focused on getting a good result in the game. Even though we won the first leg five_nil, I have told my boys that they cannot afford to underrate these Ivoirians. They played very well in the first leg in Port Harcourt and only lost by that margin because things became complicated when they adopted wrong tactics.
