Taye Taiwo has expressed his readiness to extend his contract with Olympique Marseille.
The Nigeria international has been at the Ligue 1 champions since 2004 and has been a mainstay in the backline of the State Velodrome club.
Taiwo’s contract expires at the end of the season but the 25 year old left-back believes he will remain at Marseille beyond the current campaign.
Speaking to RMC radio station he said: “I am waiting for Marseille, if they make me a good offer, I will sign a new contract with them. I am a veteran player for the club, I am the elder at the club, all players found me here.”
Marseille President Claude Dassier also gave positive indications that the French side are keen for the defender to stay with them, adding: “It will help the club and Taiwo as well, everyone will be a winner.”
