Former Eagles striker, Samson Siasia yesterday denied that he has reached an agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation to take over the national team.
It was reported that the Olympic 2008 silver medalist has agreed to terms to coach the Eagles, but Siasia said that he was yet to put pen to paper. Top NFF official, James Peters, was quoted extensively as saying Siasia is now back in the reckoning after Austin Eguavoen led the team to lose 1_0 in Guinea in a Nations Cup qualifier.
“I have not been contacted by anyone from the Federation. I heard the news like everyone else,” said Siasia.
He said that he is still open to the job and was waiting for the NFF to act accordingly.
“I am a Nigerian and a patriotic one at that. I am ready to serve my fatherland any time but I won’t force myself to be the Super Eagles coach or appoint myself, the authorities have to do that.”
