Ogun PDP crisis ‘ll soon be over – Sen Mustapha

By Kolade Larewaju
ABEOKUTA – SENATOR Lekan Mustapha representing Ogun East Senatorial District of Ogun State weekend, said the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state would soon be resolved with the harmonization of the State Executive Council of the party.

Mustapha who spoke with newsmen in Ijebu-Ode said the decision to harmonize the executive of the party which had been taken by the National Working Committee of party, was the solution to the crisis and that the three groups within the party have been notified.

He said, “a firm decision has been taken on it and each group has received  letters to that effect and I can tell you that the letters we received did not only specify the sharing formula but also the offices. The fact that it has not been effected does not mean it will not be. Anybody who is saying it will not be effected does not want the party to progress. because no group can go it alone; and anybody who is saying he would go it alone must be day dreaming”

Senator Mustapha, a leader in the Jubril Martins-Kuye group,  said that he would be contesting to go back to the Senate again in 2011 and that Governor Olugbenga Daniel’s decision to contest the ticket of the party with was no mean issue saying “it will be a contest.

It is an aspiration and everybody is free to aspire to be whatever he wants; and we will see that at the primaries. I have passed this road before and the last time there was a contest. Six of us were in the race and I became Senator. I will be going back. This one is not going to be different”
