In recognition of its robust corporate campaign ‘Today Is A Good Day’, Oceanic Bank International Plc was last week adjudged the best financial institution in outdoor advertising after a keenly contested competition.
The bank won the prestigious “Best Outdoor Advertising” award that celebrates creative excellence at the 2010 edition of the Poster Awards organised by the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN). Oceanic’s award came under the Financial Services category. Other categories included: Dairy product, food/beverages, non_alcoholic drinks and communication/public services, among others.
OAAN’s president, Kole Ademulegun said the awards represented a celebration of creativity, excellence and professionalism in the advertising industry. Noting that the OAAN had moved from “rewarding just outdoor creatives to a wide spectrum of Out_of_Home media”, he said it was imperative for practitioners to “improve on service delivery and introduce the latest inventions in outdoor into the Nigerian market.”
Oceanic Bank’s Today Is A Good Day campaign was unanimously adjudged the best in terms of originality of creative idea, ease of product identification, impactful copy, clear message, appropriate picture illustration, proper use of medium and creative arrangement of design elements.
OAAN’s panel of judges commended Oceanic Bank for the uniqueness of the campaign and the quality of deployment on various outdoor media. The messages driving the campaign include: “Today Is A Good Day to start something Big”, “Today Is A Good Day to be inspired”, Today Is A Good Day for new beginnings” and “Today Is A Good Day to embrace the future”.
The Bank’s Today is a Good Day campaign is an invitation from Oceanic to the banking public to experience endless possibilities powered by friendly, responsive, and innovative services.
The campaign has been deployed across the nation, on billboards, radio, Television, newspapers, and the Internet.
The phrase Today is a Good Day has since become synonymous with Oceanic Bank as the leading financial institution continues to match its services with the promises offered by the campaign.
