ASABA—SEVENTEEN persons, including a lawyer, who  were arrested in Asaba, Delta State, a  few days ago over alleged cult activities, have been arraigned in court.

State Police Public Relations Office PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed this in Asaba, yesterday.

Although details of the charge was not immediately ascertained,  but the PPRO, said “they have been arraigned, both the lawyer and the sixteen others. Only the driver of the vehicle was exonerated because he was innocent.”

Muka had on Monday,   said “sixteen suspected cultists were arrested in Asaba on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 10pm. Policemen from ‘A’ Division received information that cultists were planning meeting along Summit Road, Asaba, and promptly arrested them.”
