Eagles’ Job: Omokaro, Adepoju declare Keshi, Siasia capable

By Kate Obodo
Former Super Eagles player Bright Omokaro  a.k.a 10-10,can vouch for former Mali coach Stephen Keshi any day going by his past performance as a coach both locally and internationally but said he would prefer Heartland of Owerri coach Samson Siasia to manage the national team.

According to him, Siasia has more records than Keshi and believes he can manage the team well. He was however quick to add that both coaches can do the job if given the opportunity.

BACK TO PLACE.. Super Eagles player, Sani Kaita (r) suspended from the 2010 World Cup for a kung Fu kick against a Greek player is back to the team after he was sidelined.

“For me, if you look at both records and results, Siasia has more records than Keshi. But on the other hand, if it is a place where things are done properly both coaches can work together since all they want is how this country can move forward.

“During our days, Siasia played selflessly without putting money first like our players do today, same with Keshi and me. But the reverse is the case now. To me, both are good coaches, they have their pasts records. It all depends on the person who the Lord favours.

“Eguavoen is also a good coach, it’s   just that the system is polluted.  They should be chosen based on their experience on the job,” Omokaro said.

On his part, the former Shooting Stars and Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju said both coaches are good enough, adding that it will be difficult to say who should head the team going by their past performances.

“It is very difficult to point out which of them should coach the national team, but  I believe both of them are good for the job,” Adepoju concluded
