Former coach of Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Benedict Iroha has said only the Nigeria Football Association, NFA can decide who will handle the senior national team, the Super Eagles.
Iroha said in as much as the job is till open for coaches to apply, it is left for the NFA to say who the coach or coaches will be, adding that in the absence of that, the caretaker coach Austin Egueavon is doing well and needs to be appreciated
“Like I said, it is the NFA that chooses coaches, whoever they choose is okay by me and I believe Nigerians will also welcome such a coach. Be it Samson Siasia or anybody, the final decision is left for the NFA.
Be that as it may, we still need to appreciate the present coach on board which is Austin Eguavoen. Currently the man is doing wonderfully well, despite the Super Eagles flop in the Africa Nation’s Cup qualifier in Conakry. He still needs to be commended for the good job he has been doing so far,” he said
