Court orders Amb Wisdom’s house restored

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has ordered the Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, to restore Nigerian Principal Representative to Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Ambassador Aminu Wisdom and his family, into possession of his residence on 21A Cooper Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Justice Okon Abang, trial judge in the matter, in his ruling, said the AIG is to provide security to the Chief Registrar of the court for the purpose of restoring the plaintiff (Amb Wisdom) and his family into possession of the said residence pending the hearing and determination of a substantive suit.

Amb Wisdom and his family were forcefully evicted by soldiers on the orders of the Implementation and Committee of The White Paper on the Commission of Inquiry into the Alienation of the Federal Government Landed Property on June 25, 2010, following he headed to court.
