THE Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ahlaji Usman Kankara Bello has commended the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service Ahlaji Abdulahhi Dikko for recent promotion of men and officers of the Service
U K Bello said that the exercise has greatly motivated men and officers to perform their duties more effectively, a development that witnesses increased revenue generation by the service.
He also commended the present administration of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) moves in conducting written examinations and interviews with a view to promoting deserving officers of the service.
He explained that out of the 3,894 men and officers that benefitted from the exercise, 41 of them were from the Command .
His words “The Command uses this occasion to sincerely commend the sterling leadership qualities of the Comptroller-General of Customs Dikko Abdullahi for the promotion of this large number of offiers and men as this will boost their morale in revenue generation and fighting smuggling.
“There is no doubt that the entire officers and men of the service have greatly been motivated to perform their respective duties effectively and efficiently.
“This could be seen in the increased revenue generation by the service nationwide.
“Furthermore, the era of stagnation where officers stay over 10 years in one rank is over, while the tradition of officers waiting endlessly for release of promotion after interview, hitherto officers wait for over one year having forgotten that they have done promotion interview is equally over”.
Meanwhile, the Command’s Comptroller has decorated the newly promoted officers in his Command and urged to see their elevation as a call to duty.
