2011 presidency belongs to North, says Gov Saraki

GOMBE — Kwara State Governor and presidential hopeful on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2011 general elections, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has maintained that all efforts to zone out the presidential slot contrary to the PDP constitutional provisions must be thwarted.

He said this in Gombe when his campaigns train visited the state.

Dr. Saraki said his legacies in Kwara State as governor in the last 7 and half years put him on a better pedestal to govern Nigeria effectively if given the mandate.

Gov Goje backs Saraki

Speaking at the occasion, Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Mohammad Danjuma Goje, extolled the administrative skills of the presidential aspirant with which he served as the chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, an institution he said resolved the power vacuum impasse in the presidency when it became obvious that the late President Yar’Adua was incapacitated.

The governor described Dr. Saraki as an achiever and submitted that if the leadership qualities of Dr. Saraki paid off under NGF, under his administration the country would be no less.

Goje, however, pledged his support and that of the people of Gombe State to the realisation of the presidential ambition of the Kwara State Governor in next year’s elections.

Saraki also charged the leadership of PDP to ensure a credible election, such that will be universally accepted is conducted.
