ABUJA—INDICATIONS are rife that the end has not come over the present political imbroglio in the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following the arrest of former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Austin Opara and other members yesterday by the Police over what was alleged as an illegal meeting.

Disclosing this yesterday to newsmen at the PDP National Secretariat where he came to lodge the arrest of the former Deputy Speaker and other members of the faction, ex-Minister of Transport, Dr. Abiye Sekibo said “they were arrested at the D-Line Office of our faction as they were putting final plans on the biometric registration of the party expected to start soon.”

According to Sekibo, others arrested were a factional chairman of the party in Rivers State, Chief Lolo Ibiyeye, two members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, the Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr Tamuno Jaja, the Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Befey Nwile, among others.
