Mouka Nigeria Ltd. foremost bedding and mattress manufacturing outfit is set to ensure its continued support of the health sector with the donation of several mattresses and pillows to the management of Onikan Medical Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The spokesperson of the Centre Pharmacist Olumide Akintayo expressed his immense gratitude to the members of the organisation for their kind gesture in initiating the first public private partnership initiative the hospital has ever witnessed.
He said that the Centre is grateful to the Mouka management for having them in mind and for offering them such a gesture at a time they needed such support very much.
In her opening remark, the managing director of Mouka Foam Mrs. Peju Adebajo explained the purpose of the companyâ€™s visit and subsequent donation of several mattresses and pillows to the patients of the Centre.
Giving a brief history of the hospital, the Medical Director of the Centre Dr Oluwatoyin Oriola stated that, the centre started as a primary health care unit attending to basic maternal and child care issues.
According to him with time the Centre grew to include other professional services which include: Gynaecology, antenatal, paediatric issues, ultra sound scan, lab services, dermatology, bio chemistry and family planning.
Oriola further added that the only impediment to its attaining the status of a general hospital is that of space and capacity to accommodate more than a certain number of patients.
He also said certain procedures were being put in place and that by the end of the year the medical centre will attain the status of a general hospital.
Â Twenty mattresses was presented to the centre as part of the organisationâ€™s efforts in adding comfort to the lives of the ailing patients in the hospital.
