Theyâ€™ve hosted multiple award-winning singer Asa and bestsellingGhanaian act Samini; now, the remaining 16 contestants in the MTNProject Fame West Africa Academy will have the rare privilege of learning at the feet of one of Africaâ€™s greatest performers,Â Lagbaja. The producers revealed, that the masked musician has agreed to visit the Academy this weekend.
During his visit, Lagbaja will interact with the contestants; joining voice coach Ige, music director Ben, choreographer Kaffy and Principal Joke Silva to take them through rehearsals, vocal exercises, stagemanship and audience engagement.
Lagbaja, a veteran producer and performer, is one of Nigeriaâ€™s biggest bandleaders and a mentor to many of todayâ€™s acts.
His Motherlan club in Opebi, Lagos, has launched many successful acts/bands, and he continues to work with young talents from all over the continent.Â At a time when pop music is enjoying overwhelming popularity within the country, apostles of African music have acts like Lagbaja to thank for remaining true to original African culture.

As has now become the tradition, Lagbaja will join the judges Bibi, Tee-Y Mix, Nomoreloss and Kwame to rate the contestantsâ€™ performances this weekend. He will also deliver a short performance to close the Sunday show.
With two contestants now gone, 16 contestants are left in the race to see who will be this yearâ€™s MTN Project Fame West Africa winner. This lucky group of talented singers will have to face another hurdle this week as another elimination round comes up.
