It’s Lagbaja live at Project Fame

They’ve hosted multiple award-winning singer Asa and bestsellingGhanaian act Samini; now, the remaining 16 contestants in the MTNProject Fame West Africa Academy will have the rare privilege of learning at the feet of one of Africa’s greatest performers,  Lagbaja. The producers revealed, that the masked musician has agreed to visit the Academy this weekend.

During his visit, Lagbaja will interact with the contestants; joining voice coach Ige, music director Ben, choreographer Kaffy and Principal Joke Silva to take them through rehearsals, vocal exercises, stagemanship and audience engagement.

Lagbaja

Lagbaja, a veteran producer and performer, is one of Nigeria’s biggest bandleaders and a mentor to many of today’s acts.

His Motherlan club in Opebi, Lagos, has launched many successful acts/bands, and he continues to work with young talents from all over the continent.  At a time when pop music is enjoying overwhelming popularity within the country, apostles of African music have acts like Lagbaja to thank for remaining true to original African culture.

‘It’s Africa week and we’re happy to have Lagbaja who is a big supporter and evangelist of African culture and music’ CEO of Ultima Studios Femi Ayeni says.

As has now become the tradition, Lagbaja will join the judges Bibi, Tee-Y Mix, Nomoreloss and Kwame to rate the contestants’ performances this weekend. He will also deliver a short performance to close the Sunday show.

With two contestants now gone, 16 contestants are left in the race to see who will be this year’s MTN Project Fame West Africa winner. This lucky group of talented singers will have to face another hurdle this week as another elimination round comes up.
