Group volunteers to assist security agencies to combat crime

A VOLUNTARY anti-crime pressure group has been inaugurated to assist the law enforcement agents in combating crime in Issele-Uku, the headquarters of Aniocha-North Local Government Area and its environs.

The chairman of the group known as Issele-Uku Community Policing, Mr. John  Egune, said his members, who are mostly youths will ensure that all those involved in incessant crime in the area are brought to book.

He commended the State Governor, the State Commissioner of Police, the local government area  Chairman, Mr. Jaunty Okwudi and all other law enforcement agents as well as the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Obi Henry Ezeagwuna and other community leaders for their support so far to the group.

He remarked that the operation on voluntary basis by his members is a proof of commitment and patriotism by people who have the interest of the community and its people at heart.

The Vice Chairman, Mr. Obi Chukwudi, the Secretary, Mr. Patrick Okoli and the P.R.O. Mr. Chuks Ogobuegwu in their separate remarks said that the Issele-Uku Community Policing has come to stay and will continue to cooperate and assist the various law enforcement agents to curb crime in the community and the neighbouring communities.
