THE much awaited Nigerian international film ‘Ije’ finally made its way to the cinemas penultimate Saturday with the movie premier at the Silverbird Cinemas, Victoria Island Lagos.
The premier which had all the trappings of an international show witnessed a large turnout of Nollywood celebrities, movie makers and fashionistas all gaily dressed for the red carpet event.
Transporting the audience from lush countryside of Nigeria, to the intensity and seductive power of Los Angeles, IJE; the journey tells the story of two sisters with unbreakable bonds of loyalty and the power of the human spirit.
Ije is a melodic and beautiful score through rich visuals in Los Angeles and flashbacks on location in Jos, Nigeria. The movie captures the viewer from the very first scene and delivers a powerful heartfelt message throughout the entire film, leading to a seductively twisted and mind bending, yet moving conclusion.
The movie made by a young Nigerian film maker Chineze Anyaene, starred Nigerian screen goddesses, Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde , it also featured Hollywood stars Jeff Swarthout, Ulrich Que and Hispanic idol Odalys Garcia.
