Jos — The Federal Government has been urged to ensure that justice is done in the current corruption allegation rocking the House of Representatives for the credibility of the anti-graft crusade.
Constituents of suspended member representing Jos North/Jos South of Plateau State, Mr. Bitrus Kaze, made the call during a solidarity visit to him last weekend.
The groups numbering about 10, expressed unflinching support for him commending him for joining the crusade against alleged corruption in the House.
They lamented that members fighting against corruption were being persecuted wondering why the same principle which forced the former speaker, Mrs. Patricia Etteh, to step aside could not apply now.
Representatives of the PDP officials from Jos East LG A, Alhaji Musa Ibrahim, said Nigeria’s image would be further battered if those fighting against corruption were treated so badly.
He urged the various anti-corruption agencies to ensure that the corruption allegation against the leadership of the House was not swept under the carpet.
Different women, student and church groups expressed similar sentiments urging Kaze to continue to stand for the truth.
Kaze who described the experience as embarrassing, appealed for calm, saying “no price is too much to pay to sanitise our nation of corrupt practicesâ€.
