As parts of activities marking Nigeria’s 50th independent anniversary, First Bank Plc has rewarded 200 of its loyal customers with cash and gift prizes in its new promo tagged: ‘First Bank Golden Promo: Celebrating Nigeria at 50’.

The bank gave out N50, 000 each to 100  winners; 50 generating sets to 50 winners and 50 refrigerating sets to another 50 lucky winners in the first phase of the promo, held in Lagos last weekend.

Speaking at the flag-off the promo, Mr. Gbenga Shobo, Head, Products and Channels, represented by the Head, Consumer Banking, Mrs. Olufunke Smith said that the promotion is aligned to the Golden jubilee anniversary of Nigeria, stressing that the bank wants to reward over 200 of its customers with gifts and cash prizes.
Shobo said during the quarterly draws, which will cut across the six geo-political zones of the country, the bank will give out 48 brand new Kia Picanto to 48 winners.
“At the Golden Anniversary Draw slated for later in the year, we shall be given out N10 million naira to the first winner and two kia picanto to two runners-up”, he stated.

On how to qualify, Mrs. Smith explained that customers would have to increase their savings deposits by N10,000 monthly from June 2010 to May 2011 for the monthly prizes; three consecutive incremental deposits of N10000 qualifies customers for the quarterly draws and if they increase their savings deposit by N50,000 monthly from June to November 2010, they qualify for the Golden Draw prize.

She advised that account holders should provide their current mobile number at their branches, while prospective customers should open a savings accouunt at the nearest First Bank branch to benefits from the promo.

To Mr. Saheed Olaniyi, an Auditor from KPMG, “ours is to ensure that customers are not short-changed. We took the Savings account numbers of customers in the draws and reconcile with that of the bank to ensure transparency is observed, and I can say that so far so good, it has been transparent.”
