The four hotels under the management of Starwood Hotels in Nigeria during the week unveil a project taggedÂ Â Football Owambe to reward guests, customers and soccer lovers who will be part of the World Cup matches at the various viewing centres in theirÂ hotels.
The hotels are Sheraton Abuja, Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Le Meridien Ogeyi Place, Port Harcourt; and Le Meridien Ibom Hotel, Akwa Ibom.
At a press conference held TuesdayÂ in Lagos, the Marketing Director of Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, Daniel Lordis, assured that the viewing centres would show all the World Cup matches live, while urging fans who would travel round Nigeria during the World Cup to visit the hotel for free admission into the viewing centres.
To qualify for the draws that would hold on the 16th of this month, according to Lordis, fans who visit the viewing centres need to spend N2,000 on food, beverage and merchandise, and would receive a coupon, which qualifies them for the draws. The grand prize for the draw is a KIA Rio.
â€œAlready, we have teamed up with some official sponsors of the FIFA World Cup, KIA, Coca_Cola, Sony and Dana Air to ensure we deliver the best to our teeming customers,â€ Lordis said. â€œStarwood Hotels wants to unite football fans across all walks of life and we are calling on everyone to come share in the excitement as Africa hosts the first ever football World Cup on our continent.
â€œTo also add excitement to the project, the popular vuvuzelas from South Africa would be on sale in all the centres, while special drinks that are peculiar to countries playing on a particular day would be served. We are also going to have cocktail in name of players representing their counties at the World Cup.
â€œApart from the first prize of KIA Rio, the second lucky fan will take home a 42â€™ Sony Plasma Screen. The third prize is a state_of_the_art Sony Home Theatre System while the fourth prize will see five fans getting three months free supply of Coca_Cola.
â€œFor the fifth prize, two lucky couples will walk away with return tickets from Dana to either Abuja, Port Harcourt or Uyo plus a complimentary weekend stay at any of the star wood hotels. 10 fans will also go home with 10 Sony Cybershot Cameras while five party coolers will also go to five customers as the sixth prize.
