Osun: LG leaders accuse PDP of bias

OSOGBO—A crisis of interest is rocking the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State ahead of the 2011 general elections.

Already, the leadership of the party in Iwo Local Government Area of the state has accused the state executive of the party of allegedly working against the interest of some aspirants in order to pave way for the emergence of a candidate of their choice.

Specifically, the party leaders at the council level who addressed a briefing on the recent dissolution of the party executive from the ward to the council level in Iwo without passing through due process stated that the action was unacceptable to them.

The spokesman of the party, Alhaji Rauf Salawu stated that the council was one of the most peaceful local governments in the state, wondering what could have necessitated the dissolution of the party’s exco.
