Haruna Lukman is the only player that has his place cemented in the line up that will file out against Argentina is Saturday’s World Cup opener Durban, South Africa.
Lukeman played his way into coach Lars Lagerback’s heart, after making two impressive starts in the warm up games against Colombia and North Korea. And according to Lagerback’s Swede assistant, Roland Anderson the coaches have unanimously agreed that Lukman is the man to man the midfield when the Eagles open their account with the Argentines.
“Yes, of course he can start, but we will see what happens. He has already shown that he is a good player. He is young and he develops more and more every day,â€said Anderson. Anderson said Lukman has good ball vision, but he still needs to work hard to be another great player like Austin Okocha.
“ In the future he has the opportunity to become as good as Okocha was, but only if he works hard. He has to work on his defense and make sure he improves.†On his part Lukman said that he is looking forward to playing against Argentina, stressing that he was out to play his own game.
“I am looking forward to the game against Argentina. It is football and everything can happen. I think we can play a very good game.â€
