By Dayo Johnson
DEPOSED Deji of Akureland Prince Oluwadare Adepoju has been banished to Owo in Owo council area of Ondo state to enable him face the criminal charges against him which would commence next week.

Ironically, his estranged Olori Bolanle hails from Owo where the former Oba would be cooling his feet for the next six months after his deposition and banishment by government.

Meanwhile, the Kingmakers have commenced the selection of reagent to fill the vacant throne pending the presentation of another candidate by the next ruling House.

The Kingmakers who held a marathon meeting Friday are to present three reagents out of which the state government would pick one pending the final selection of another Deji.

Hundreds of residents of Akure who trooped to the Akure Chief Magistrate Court Friday expecting that the former Oba would be arraigned in court went home disappointed as police failed to bring him to face the criminal charges against him.

Owo town is less than 30 minutes drive to Akure where he committed the crime of assaulting one of his Olori few weeks ago.

Dependable source hinted Vanguard in Akure that the state governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko had a talk with the Olowo of Owo Oba Folagbade Olateru Olagbegi who incidentally is the state Chairman of the Council of Obas in the state before the former Deji was relocated to Owo.

Ondo state government had on Thursday deposed the Deji and banished him in the interest of public peace.

Although government spokesman Ranti Akerele declined comment on where the Former Deji was banished to, it was gathered that he arrived Government Reservation Area GRA in Owo at about 10pm on Thursday in company of top police officers from the state Command.

Speaking with Vanguard the Police Commissioner Mogaji Nasarawa confirmed that the former Deji would be arraigned in Court next week.
