A non-governmental organization, Unveilers of Good Leaders Foundation (UGLF), has described President Umaru Yar’Adua’s death as most unfortunate, but takes solace in the fact that he left behind an indelible legacy.
The group in statement signed by its national president, Evangelist David Ohwobeya, and made available to newsmen in Warri, noted that Yar Adua would be remembered for the prevailing peace he restored in the Niger Delta.
Ohwobeya also described the ongoing amnesty initiated by the deceased president as one of his major legacies. The establishment of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development and appointment of Niger Deltans to head the ministry were his laudable initiative and achievement, maintaining that all this would be remembered by Niger Deltans.
Meanwhile, Ohwobeya used the medium to congratulate President Goodluck Jonathan on his elevation and appealed to lovers of good governance to give him the needed support to consolidate on the rule of law initiative of Yar’Adua and ensure the sustenance of the ongoing amnesty.
