We’re not opposition group, say Nnamani, Masari, others

By Henry UMORU, Abuja
Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani- led Peoples Democratic Part ( PDP) Reform Forum yesterday said that it was not an opposition group within the party.

It called for full implementation of the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Committee Report and “not its selective piece_meal application. In particular, we urge that “Elders Committees” be inaugurated in the States as recommended.”

It also asked that a Party Conference should take place every two years, and that in the selection and election of delegates for the party’s various Congresses and convention, the Party must ensure that elected delegates outnumber appointed delegates as that will seriously reduce the numbers appointable by a single individual, “be he a State Governor or the President/Commander_in_chief”.

In a statement signed in Abuja Friday by Senator Ken Nnamani, Aminu Bello Masari and Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, said, “We of the Reform forum are very unhappy with this image. We are not an “opposition group” within the Party.

We are not a campaign organization for anybody. We are responsible and loyal Party members who have had the privilege of holding office at Government/Party levels at various times in the past.”
