Warri South council boss tasks participants on Principal Cup

The chairman of Warri South Local Government, Mr. Mofe Edema has enjoined all participating schools in the Council’s on_going Principal and Headmaster’s football competition to ensure the success of the competition.

Mr. Edema gave the advice penultimate Friday after a football match between Hussey and Essi Colleges held at the Naval Base Pitch in Warri to declare the competition open.

Edema warned participating teams to shun acts that could truncate the essence of the competition.
He restated the commitment of the Council to ensure a successful football event that will produce young footballers for the country.

Earlier in an address read by the Director of Personnel Management, Sir Christopher Aghara, Mr. Edema lamented the dearth of talents in the country’s national teams.

He called for concerted efforts by stakeholders to ensure that school and grassroots soccer are revived to bring back the lost glory of football in the country.

The Warri South Council Supervisor for Community Development, Youths, Sports, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Festus Okoloko promised that all participating schools will be sensitized to ensure that all match_venues, experience peace irrespective of the results.
