Unity Bank wins award for new brand identity

Unity Bank Plc has been honoured with a Brand Recognition Award by the Commerce and Industry
Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN). The award was presented by Chairman of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, Mr Mazi Ohunabunwa at CICAN’s annual Crystal Nite of Excellence which held in Lagos.

In its citation for the award, CICAN said, “In recognising Unity Bank as one of the most impactful financial brands, we celebrate an institution that has thrived in the face of national and global economic adversity.”

The association also said that since changing its corporate identity towards the end of 2009, Unity Bank’s new brand identity, “headlined by its unique graphite and lemon sky name-logo, has rapidly achieved a vibrant and widespread presence which has received accolades from brand managers, industry practitioners and the banking public.”

The Group Managing Director of Unity Bank, Falalu Bello, who was represented by the Ikeja Regional Manager of the bank, Felix Eze, thanked CICAN for the award and promised that the bank would continue to improve service delivery to its numerous customers.

He said in this direction, Unity Bank recently added six new branches to its network, bringing the total number of the bank’s branches nationwide to 227. Moreover, the bank plans to add 22 new branches to its network before the end of 2010.

The Group Managing Director also said the bank’s forthcoming Rights Issue was part of the institution’s plans to reposition itself for improved performance for the benefit of its customers and shareholders, promising that the bank would continue to uphold its time honoured values of integrity and ethical conduct in its affairs.
