Suswam’s aide denies assassination plot against Tsav

By  Peter Duru

MAKURDI —  Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Public Policy, Mr. Conrad Wergba has debunked allegations that he masterminded an assassination plot against Mr. Morris Tsav, the publisher of a local weekly in Benue State.

Wergba maintained that the allegation was a calculated attempt by the local publisher to soil his reputation and denigrate his personality, pointing out that he would seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction to clear his name.

The Adviser, who made this declaration while addressing newsmen in Makurdi, regretted that the whole story about the assassination plot was stage managed with the aim of scoring cheap political points.

According to him, he got the news of the alleged assassination plot from a close associate whom Tsav had reported the matter to and also alleged that the Special Adviser was the brain behind the murder plot.

He said: “On hearing this, I put a call across to Morris to confirm the allegation and to my surprise he accused me of sending assassins after him, whom he claimed burnt his vehicle and inflicted bodily injuries on his driver.

“I am indeed surprised at the allegation because I have no reason to attack Morris. And the truth is that nobody attacked him, it’s all lies and I assure you that I will take this matter to the security agencies and the traditional rulers to call him to order because he is taking the joke too far.”
