Referees, security are hurdles that Owumi must scale , Laloko

Former Stationery Stores FC coach Kashimawo Laloko foresees difficult hurdles for newly elected NPL chairman Davidson Owumi.

Laloko who just returned from Ghana, told Saturday Sports on phone that he was elated with victory of Owumi at the NPL election. Stressing that Owumi’s victory was victory for those who have longed fought for a capable person to head the NPL.

Unfortunately for Owumi he said referees, security and improved standard of the league are hurdles that the former Rangers boss must scale to make any meaningful impact in the league.

“Honestly speaking, I’m delighted especially when I heard the news that he was the league chairman. He has played the game and also knows much about the system, with that I’m convinced that he will do very well.

“But he should also know that there lots of challenges in the league that he must look into so that things will be okay when he  resumes office as chairman of the NPL,” he said.
