President’s wife wins in Union Bank’s savings promo

LAGOS—Wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan, yesterday,  emerged one of the winners in the national draw of the Union Bank savings promotions in Lagos.

The First Lady, who operates a saving account with a branch of the bank in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, won one of 60 motorcycles offered by the bank with ticket number 387492.

The grand prize of two houses were won by Mrs. Kirigbo Mary, a customer with the Trans Amadi branch, Port Harcout, with ticket No. 0014890.

The second winner is Mrs  Elochukwu Cecilia  Ani, a customer  at Agbani branch, Enugu State, with ticket no 0008984.

In addition to these the customers of the bank won three Prado Jeeps and  18 corolla cars while two went home N1 million cash prize.

Speaking at the draw, Managing Director/chief executive of the bank, Mrs Funke Osibodu said that the presentation of the gifts is an indication that the bank has delivered on its promises to customers at the beginning of the promo. She said it is also a further indication that Union Bank is still a reliable bank.

She said the bank through the savings promotions has leveraged on its extensive network and strength in retail and consumer banking to mobilize deposit from divers savers across the country especially the small savers. She said that the funds mobilized from the promotions would be ploughed back into the economy into supporting the productive sectors.
