Police nab 2 students for alleged robbery, 3 over community crisis

Asaba — TWO stu-dents of Delta State University, Delsu, Abraka, have been arrested over alleged involvement in armed robbery cases. Police also picked up three suspects over the recent Mosogar community crisis.

Confirming the arrest, state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, called on parents to ensure proper upbringing of their  children and ensure that they did not join bad gangs.

According to him, “Police in  Abraka have arrested a 400 level Fine Arts student (names withheld) of Delta State University, DELSU,  Abraka, for robbing people at Beaulla Land Hostel and  recovered from him a cut-to-size single barrel gun and three live cartridges.

“We also arrested a  22-year-old 200 level student of DELSU (names withheld) for armed robbery. He confessed that his gang had, on 19 April, robbed people at Scotland Hotel at Abraka.”

He also said that three suspects were picked up in connection with Mosogar community crisis in which many people were wounded.
