Nwosu, a member of the 1980 Nation’s Cup squad said the former Rangers boss is credible and can do the job of taking the domestic league to the next level.

“Honestly speaking, it is a thing of joy to have a person who is vast  in the affairs of football. I will say Owumi is an ideal person for the NPL, especially with the fact that he has been in the game for long.

“I believe he will stand the test of time and I know he will be able to meet with the challenges on ground. I wish him well and pray that at the end of his tenure, things will be put right,” Nwosu said.

Last week, the former league top scorer emerged the winner of the chairmanship election of the NPL defeating Bayelsa United chairman, Victor Rumson Baribote by 13- 4 votes.
