ICPC boss advises Nigerians on status report of cases

 By Ola Ajayi

IBADAN—CHAIRMAN Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola has advised people who have criminal allegations preferred against them by law enforcement agencies to ask for the status reports of the cases.

According to him, if a case is dead, the person involved should demand for the certification to really ascertain the true status of the case, adding that Nigerians should not think that the commission would descend so low as allow politics in its operations.

The ICPC boss who gave this advice while speaking with newsmen, specifically asked Nigerians to erase the issue of politically motivated cases off their consciousness as nothing like that would happen in the commission.

He said, ‘’When it comes to criminal cases, there is no limitation period. The lesson I want Nigerians to learn from this is that if you have been contacted by the law enforcement agency that there is a complaint against you, it is in your best interest  to find out whether the case is still on or dead .”
