Eze Aro mourns Yar’Adua, congratulates Jonathan

His Majesty, Eze Aro, Mazi Ogbonnaya Okoro (CFR), has expressed shock over the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the age of 58, describing it as national tragedy.  

According to the royal father, Yar’Adua was a good leader and a devoted Muslim who sacrificed so much in the service of the country Nigeria.

In a statement recently, Mazi Ogbonnaya Okoro prayed God to grant Yar’Adua’s soul eternal rest, and also his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

“On behalf of my family and the entire people of Arochukwu Kingdom, I pray for the repose of the gentle soul of President Umaru Yar’Adua. And for his family, the people of Katsina State and indeed all Nigerians, I pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”

In a related development, the monarch congratulated Dr Goodluck Jonathan who was Thursday sworn-in as Nigeria’s President. He prayed God to give the new president the wisdom to lead the country.
