Customs officer kidnapped in Port Harcourt

PORT HARCOURT – A senior officer of the Nigerian Customs has been kidnapped in Port Harcourt.

According to the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Dr Rita Inoma Abbey, over  eight heavily armed men that came in a speed boat abducted the Customs Officer,   CSP Comfort Enujeko who is attached to Onne Port, Port Harcourt.

She said the kidnappers engaged the Police in a fierce gun battle before fleeing with the hostage. According to her two of the kidnappers were killed in the shootout. And four other suspects were arrested.

“At Ogonigba waterside Trans Amadi, one WCSP, Comfort Enujeko of the Nigerian Customs attached to Onne Port, Port Harcourt was kidnapped by over eight hoodlums who came in a speed boat. Police teams led by DPO Trans Amadi raced to the scene of crime.  The kidnappers started shooting at the Police and in the ensuing shoot out two kidnappers were fatally wounded  but died on the way to the hospital. Also four suspects were arrested while others fled with the victim. All hands are on deck towards arresting her and rescuing her”, she said.
