2011: Isoko South endorses Kpokpogri for gov

UGHELLI—THE People of Orie-Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, Tuesday, endorsed Rear Admiral John Kpokpogri (rtd) as the state governor come 2011.

The people, who played host to the governorship hopeful at the community’s town hall, said their decision to endorse him was because of his antecedents, describing him as a man of integrity.

Speaking at the reception ceremony, President of the community, Chief Joel Akpoduvo, said they were determined to vote in Rear Admiral John Kpokpogri (rtd) as the next Governor of the State 2011.

According to him, Rear Admiral Kpokpogri has all it takes to govern the state, adding that the state needed a transparent and dedicated person to govern it in 2011.

He said the Isoko people have been marginalized for too long.

Addressing the people, Rear Admirer John Kpokpogri rtd thanked the people for endorsing him and said he was in the governorship race to salvage the people and the State from the shackles of under development.

Kpokpogri reiterated that it was his dream to correct the neglect and marginalization in the state and thanked Urhobo people for accepting the zoning of the governorship position in the state.

While frowning at the seeming stands of the Itsekiri people to have the governorship position for another four years, he said it was the turn of the Isoko people to produce the State Governor. He enjoined the people to continue in their support and prayer for him.
