Uwheru community revives wrestling

WORRIED by the declining interest in wrestling in modern age, the people of Uwheru community in Delta State have kicked off a four–day wrestling contest.

Elites of the community under the aegis of Uwheru Consultative Forum are putting the contest together in collaboration with the Uwheru traditional council.

The wrestling contest which kicked off on Wednesday will be rounded off with a grand finale tomorrow.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Chief P.G. Adjekpiyede told our Sports Vanguard that “the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, is among the galaxy of dignitaries expected to grace the Saturday grand finale of Uwheru annual wrestling festival tagged festival of peace, unity and progress”.
