By Bishop David Oyedepo

So far, we have learnt the meaning of praise, why we praise God and some key manifestations of the power of praise. This week, I will show you other key manifestations of the power of praise.

Good things: You provoke good things from God as you praise Him, if you are His child. Psalm 34:10 says: “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” Good things are your heritage, if you are a child of God.

Towards the end of this teaching, I will show you how to be a child of God. Praise is a potent force that connects you with what belongs to you. As you praise God, among the good things you enjoy is that God perfects all that concerns you.

No wonder, God’s Word says: “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.” (Psalm 138:8). Besides, He ensures that no weapon formed against you prospers. (Isaiah 54:15).

Divine judgment: We provoke divine judgment through praise. God’s Word says: “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints.” (Ps 149:6-9). Judgment is executed in your favour in praise, as you dance your way out in fulfilment of scriptures.

Deliverance: A chemist can tell you the components of the drugs, because that is his profession. I can tell you that there is deliverance in praise. Everything molesting you will not survive, when you adopt the attitude of praise. There was a time Paul and Silas were imprisoned. They resorted to praising God in the midnight and that was how they were delivered from the prison. (Acts 16:25-39). As you praise God, whatever represents a chain around your life will fall off you! There is supernatural deliverance in praise.

Harvest: Psalm 67:5-7 says: “Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.” Praise is the sickle for harvest. If you are a giver and not a praiser, you are not entitled to a harvest. Fearful praise provokes fearful blessings from God. When you praise God, His blessings upon your life become inexhaustible. No matter what you do in the kingdom, until you have praised Him, you cannot be fruitful.

The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your praise. Remember, Gods owes you nothing, for He has done all things well. Rather, you owe Him praise. As you praise Him, you won’t need to struggle for your needs to be met any more. They will be met on their own accord!

Divine intervention: You hand over whatever that has resisted you to God through praise. This was what happened when Judah was under attack by three nations. Judah had no might against their enemies. What they did was to invoke the might and omnipotence of God against their enemies through praise. As they began to praise God, He put ambushment against their enemies and they were all smitten. (II Chronicles 20:13-22). When you praise God, He takes over your battle. As you give Him praise, He releases His Almightiness and Omnipotence into the camp of your enemies and destroys their thrones!

Supernatural preservation: God’s blessings are preserved in your life, as you give God His glory in your praise (Malachi 2:2). Every genuine praiser enjoys God’s preservation in his or her life.
Divine favour: There is divine favour in praise. Remember that just one encounter with God (favour) via the potent force of praise, is much more than a lifetime of efforts and struggles (Acts 2:46-47). As you praise God, you enjoy His favour.

Friend, access to these benefits listed above is the privilege of those who are saved. Are you saved? You get saved as you confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You can be saved now, if you haven’t been, as you say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to you today. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me from sin. From today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. Now I know I am born again!” I will conclude this teaching next week, if Jesus tarries! I invite you to come and fellowship with us at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaan Land, Ota, the covenant home of winners.
