ABAKALIKI— Former Governor of Anambra State and the Action Congress, AC, governorship candidate of the state in 6 February  2010, governorship election, Dr. Chris Ngige has described the death of Alhaji Abubakar Rimi as end of the progressives in Nigeria politics.

Dr. Ngige who said he was shocked to learn about the death of the second republic Governor of Kano State, shortly after both himself and the late Rimi met in Rimi’s house in Abuja, stated that he considered Rimi’s sudden demise as a fallout of the general insecurity in Nigeria.

In a condolence letter to Governor Ibrahim Shekarrau of Kano State and indeed to the entire Kano people and Nigeria in general, Dr. Ngige who presently is contesting the result of the Anambra governorship election in the election petitions tribunal, said he was short of words on Rimi’s death but that the people and government of Kano State should take his death with great equanimity, bearing in mind that Allah brought and the same Allah has taken him away now for reasons only He (Allah) knows.
