Oshiomhole extols late Bendel Chief Judge’s virtues

BENIN—Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has extolled the virtues of the late Chief Judge of the old Bendel State, Hon Justice J.O Akpovi, saying he made invaluable contributions to the development of the judiciary.

The governor, in a condolence message to the Chief Judge of the State, Hon Justice Cromwell Idahosa, said:   “I wish to convey to your Lordship the condolences of the people and Government of Edo State on the death of Hon Justice J.O Akpovi, Chief Judge of old Bendel State.

“By his death, our state and region have lost one of the most illustrious veterans of the Bench. As Chief Judge of the old Bendel State, Justice Akpovi made remarkable contributions to the development of the judiciary, which gave the Bench in the new Edo State a good start upon its creation.

“We join you and his family to pray Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and reward his conviction as a believer. We also pray fortitude and comfort for the family he has left behind.”
